Case studies
Three projects, one composer-signed desk.
Anonymised briefs from the studio desk — the picture, the platforms, the licence shape, and the cue that landed. Each one is a hand-worked example of how ScoreDesk reads a brief back, signs a cue, and delivers cleared for broadcast and streaming.
Three briefs · three deliverables · composer-signed · cleared for delivery
Three client write-ups
From brief to signed cue.
Each project below is anonymised, sanitised for the public reel, and walked end-to-end — from the desk that received the brief to the cue that landed in the producer's inbox.
A director came in with a picture-locked short about a returning emigrant — quiet, observational, a single cello-and-piano palette through the second act. The deadline was the regional festival's submission window; the licence needed to cover festival run plus a one-year commercial window.
What was delivered
- Timecoded score against the locked cut (22 min, 6 cue stems)
- Alternate emotional reading for the closing three minutes
- Stems: dialogue M&E bed, music, FX at 48 kHz
- Atmos 7.1 surround export for the festival screening
Outcome
Landed inside the festival submission window with one revision round unused. Selected in the regional sidebar and run theatrically for the festival weekend. The composer credit sits on the main credit scroll and on the project's IMDb page.
A returning literary podcast needed a new identity package for its eighth season — main theme, four transition stings, segment-id bumpers, and a loopable bed their host could hold under each guest's voice. Two host deadlines and a clear LUFS target for spoken-word compatibility.
What was delivered
- Main theme (52 s) + four transition stings (≤30 s)
- Loopable underlying bed, podcast-standard LUFS
- Three segment-id bumpers and a closing sting
- Video-cut-downs for the show's teaser reel
Outcome
Season opened on schedule with the new identity in place. The host reads cleanly on top of every bed; the bumpers hold under the show's tagline ad break. The composer credit sits on the show-notes and RSS metadata for the full season's run.
A regional retailer rebranding for the autumn season needed a three-spot hero-plus-tailor bundle: one 60s hero cue plus 30s / 15s / 6s tailors, broadcast + web + CTV cleared for a 12-month run, with regional language variants on confirm.
What was delivered
- Hero cue (58 s) + tailors at 30 / 15 / 6 s
- Québécois French and Acadian French language variants
- Broadcast-ready masters with CTV-safe loudness
- AES streaming-friendly web master + invoice on delivery
Outcome
All three spots aired on schedule across the regional broadcast flight and the brand's web video. The 12-month licence cleared broadcast, web, CTV and in-store on the same delivery. The composer credit sits in the brand's usage log and on the PRO cue registration.
Continue the reel
The same desk publishes the inline-playable sample reel of delivered cues over on /samples — composer-signed cues with the MP3 right next to the brief shape. /samples.
Send a brief
Send the brief. The composer reads it back.
One brief in, one signed cue out. Tell the studio the picture you're scoring, the platforms the cue has to land on, the deadline it has to hit, and the licence the project travels under — the same desk that produced the write-ups above will draft and sign off on yours.
